Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using any app from Hit the Deck Software ("we", "us"), or by using this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the apps or the site.
License
The apps are provided free of charge and supported by optional tips. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use each app on devices you own or control. You may not resell an app, redistribute it as your own, or remove or alter its branding.
No warranty
The apps and this website are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy or availability. Use is entirely at your own risk. We do not guarantee that any app will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or compatible with every Mac, phone, display, operating system version or other app, including future operating system updates that may change how an app behaves.
Limitation of liability and assumption of risk
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hit the Deck Software, Mark Delfs and the developers of the apps are not responsible or liable for any damage to your computer, phone, network or other systems or hardware, loss or corruption of data, loss of profits or business, interruption of service, or any other direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the apps or this website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. You are responsible for backing up anything important. If the law where you live does not allow some of these limits, they apply only as far as the law permits.
Beta and pre-release software
Apps and builds labeled beta, or with a version below 1.0, are unfinished and may contain bugs, change without notice, or stop working. Do not rely on them for anything critical.
Notes on specific apps
- Quint can run Terminal commands and AppleScripts, which can do anything you can do on your Mac, including changing or deleting files. You are responsible for any command or script you write, paste or import, and for reading what a shared Quintlet runs before you switch it on. Only open Quintlet files from people you trust.
- Sooster shares the folders you choose with the people you choose. You are responsible for what you share and for having the right to share it, including respecting copyright. Do not use it to share content you do not have the right to share.
- Radiel passively observes nearby Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals. Distances are rough estimates, not measurements, and results can be wrong. You are responsible for using it lawfully and respectfully, and nothing it shows is proof that a device is or is not present or dangerous.
- CamDeck installs a camera extension that macOS asks you to approve. Effects shown to other people on a call are your responsibility.
- DockSpacer changes how your Dock is arranged. Use it with the understanding that Dock settings can reset after system updates.
- Cherone, Airliner and Overwave load content from websites, streams and playlists that you choose. We do not control or endorse that content, and you are responsible for complying with the terms of the services and publishers you use.
- XTicker and Quint display information from third-party sources that we do not control, such as stock quotes, news, weather and sports. It may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable. Nothing in the apps is financial, investment, legal, medical, safety or navigation advice. Always check the official source.
- ShoeBox and DropDeck keep copies of files and clippings you add. Keep your own backups of anything important.
- Skewr is a convenience timer. Do not rely on it for food safety, and never leave hot oil, heated liquids or open flames unattended. Alarms and notifications can fail or be silenced by your phone's settings. Skewr is distributed as a direct APK outside Google Play, so install it only from the official GitHub releases page linked from this site.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for complying with the terms of the services and publishers whose content you choose to use, and for the permissions you grant to an app in your operating system.
Tips
The apps are free to use in full. Tips made through Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary and non-refundable, and do not create any support contract, service-level agreement or ownership stake in the software.
Third-party trademarks
Apple, Mac, macOS, AirPlay and all other names and marks mentioned are trademarks of their respective owners. Android is a trademark of Google LLC. The apps are independent products and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.
Changes and termination
We may change, discontinue or stop supporting any app or this website at any time, for any reason, without notice. Apps are maintained on a best-effort basis. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
